Updated: 9 hours ago

Welcome to our blog, your go-to recap of what’s buzzing in tech, what we’ve been up to, and what’s coming next.

We kicked things off with a splash: meeting first-years at Club Fair, welcoming more than 460 members, and sharing our roadmap of the year We want this blog to be both informational and entertaining, so grab a pumpkin spice latte and catch up on the latest tech stories from September.

What’s Buzzing in Tech

September has been a big month in tech, with industry giants racing to secure their footing in the AI era.

  • 💰 Data center gold rush: The data center gold rush is in full swing as Microsoft, Oracle, and OpenAI pour billions into GPU-powered infrastructure to support complex AI models. Microsoft’s $33 billion in new “neocloud” contracts, Oracle’s ongoing debt-funded expansion, and the trio’s massive 'Stargate Project,' a $500 billion AI infrastructure venture backed by SoftBank, signal both the ambition and the risk fueling the AI boom.

  • 🧩 Transformation into full-stack AI powerhouse: Nvidia and Intel have struck an unexpected $5 billion partnership to co-develop CPUs and chips that bridge the CPU-GPU divide, signaling Nvidia’s move beyond its GPU roots toward full-stack dominance in computing and the desire for shared innovation and smarter cost control.

  • 🕶️ AI, but make it wearable: Meta is pushing the boundaries of wearable intelligence with the launch of its $799 Ray-Ban Display smart glasses and Neural Band controller, blending AI, augmented reality, and gesture control into one sleek device. Early reviews show promising adoption, though privacy, comfort, and battery life will ultimately determine whether Meta’s vision for glasses as the next computing platform takes hold. More to come - the AI race isn’t slowing down anytime soon. ⚡️
